Population First organised a consultative meeting comprising NGO representatives, government authorities, corporates and the media. It was presided over by Ms. Anna Dani, Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Maharashtra.

Population First also facilitated activities in colleges in collaboration with NSS networks on Girl Child Day, on 24 September 2004, both of which received positive response. The consultative group emphasised the need to mount a sustained campaign with focused objectives within an achievable time frame.
