Laadli's Dream Run

Population First (PF) participated in the The Mumbai Marathon held on January 21, 2007. A 150-strong team led by Laadli's Goodwill Ambassador and Spokesperson, Kirron Kher and Suneeta Rao respectively, joined thousands of others on South Mumbai's streets in support of Laadli, our girl child campaign against sex selection. Sponsored by Spykar Jeans, the participants comprised college students, professionals looking to support a social cause and even enthusiastic senior citizens. The PF team was there of course, egged on by executive trustee, S.V. (Bobby) Sista and programme director, Dr. A.L. Sharada. Colleges that participated were B.D. Somani, G.M. Momin, K.J. Somaiya, NMIMS, Siddharth, Sophia and SIES. We raised Rs. 86,511 and thank our generous donors for the same. The donations will be used to fund various activities under the Laadli campaign.
