The Focus of the Training

As a result of its social assessment study of the Dholkhumb and Kinhavali PHC (Primary Health Centre) areas, Population First realised that there were noticeable gaps in the services of the health personnel. This was compounded by the fact that the community under utilised these services.

The study has identified four major areas where focused training inputs were required:

Ø Motivation of PHC Personnel: The PHC personnel were disillusioned and felt that their hard work was unappreciated and that they lacked the support of the authorities. Further, they did not receive an adequate response from the community in spite of their best efforts.
