Mr. Deepak Parekh

Mr. Deepak Parekh is Chairman of the Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited < www.hdfc.com >, India’s best known housing finance institution that has virtually paved the way for the development of the retail loans business in India. Apart from heading HDFC, Mr. Parekh has headed and been on a large number of committees involving finance and infrastructure. The latest committee is the 3-member Investment Commission appointed by the Government of India to interact closely with corporates in India and abroad, bridging the gap between 'announcements' and 'proposals' and between 'proposals' and 'project implementation'. It also makes recommendations to the government, both policies and procedures, to facilitate greater FDI flows into India.
