Pop Quiz 2008, an inter-collegiate quiz competition on population and health issues was organised to mark World Population Day. St. Xavier's College, Dhobi Talao was the winner while Sophia's at Breachcandy and K.J. Somaiya, Vidyavihar came second and third respectively. Read more....
Laadli promotes excellence in creativity
Population First organised the UNFPA-
Laadli National Creative Excellence Awards on June 30, 2008 at the Y.B. Chavan Centre, Nariman Point, Mumbai. The awards are for original creative content for posters, print ads, innovative campaign ideas, poems, jingles etc. on the theme, ‘Stop Sex Selection’. The idea was to involve the maximum number of people to think about, debate and discuss this critical issue, which is fast gaining the proportions of ‘genocide’, as per some reliable estimates. The Laadli National Creative Excellence Awards were supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) under the Laadli Media Advocacy initiatives. Read More... (link to Jan 2008 e-newsletter)
