Population stabilisation is not just an issue of controlling fertility alone but of reaching out to people with development options that can have an impact on the growth and stabilisation of population. The first step towards this goal clearly is a communication that will change mindsets and the prevalent stereotypical view of population as an issue of numbers alone. We need to communicate and convince large sections that population growth and stabilisation is linked to efficient health services and social development initiatives. It’s also related to good governance, adequate allocation of resources and efficient implementation of policies and programmes.

To do this, Population First believes there is a crying need to involve all the stakeholders, give them a voice and involve them in the process of influencing policy formulation and programme implementation.
